On Tuesday the car maker Lamborghini unveiled a new version of the Gallardo model and it will pollute less than its predecessor. Lamborghini also disclosed plans to open a retail store in Las Vegas.The car maker reiterated a higher sales forecast in the beginning of the year despite signs that the economy in its main market is weakening. Chief Executive Stephan Winkelmann, after the unveiling of the Gallardo LP560-4 at the Geneva auto show, said that his customers are very rich and fears of a recession did not make them think twice about buying a new car. The company sold a record of 2,406 hand-made vehicles in 2007 and the company is expected to hit another record this year. There is usually a long waiting list for Lamborghini vehicles, and that is why hitting another record is possible. The brand new Lamborghini won't have much influence in sales this year because the car will not go on sale until June, and customers who have ordered the old version of the Gallardo will receive the new one.
